Many people are coming out now after a few years and saying what's with all the dots style fixtures and what looks like the same products in a new case with the LED Disco Lights that are out, and it just happens Brian S Redd has done a Vlog about this recently.
LED Disco Lights are a massive part of many people's light show these days but Brian put his point across perfectly, by reminding us there are alternatives to LED Disco Lights.
Some examples after a quick scoot round of our DJ Lights section throw up a whole host of options.
In the early days many DJ used what we can call Retro lights now. Things like Par Cans, Mirrorballs and Chasers.
A technology shift in the 1980's brought a new wave of Halogen DJ Lights though and the Retro light fixtures started to evolve. These new projection style Dj Lights used a Halogen Lamp usually reflected off a mirror in a Scanner or a Barrel DJ Light, and/or throw a filter/gobo wheel in the style of the NJD Datamoon which have been around for about 30 years! The fixtures are still available, and most importantly worth considering.
Or why not invest in a DJ Laser? Single colour, dual colour, tri-colour, full colour, twinkle, grating, scanning - WE DO IT ALL! A DJ Laser can really start to enhance your lightshow and take the focus away from your LED Disco Lights.
And then ofcourse there are other special effects, whether it's UV DJ lights, Starcloths, Strobes or Moving Heads even!
Check out the video below though and see what Brian thinks... and ofcourse let us know your thoughts too if you have any!
